day to start fresh. noureddine was telling us the other day how immediately after the event on sept 11, 2001 president bacow called in all the administration people and head of departments for a meeting. they decided there and then that for safety reasons, all the muslims on campus will be monitored by the police. as a result, the muslim unit, the islamic center and visible muslims on campus were kept under close watch by police in civillian clothing. creepy... when i think that for the whole time there might have been someone watching my every move, even if it's for my own safety, it just gives me the creep. i'm not sure whether they've discontinued this surveillance or not, but i sure hope they did.
