i've tried smoking a cigarette. my parents will kill me if they find out about this. my only excuse is that i'm trying to understand the people i know and love. but anyway, i've tried it eventhough i didn't do it right. and while i could understand the oblivion, the satisfaction that some might get from puffing in and out smoke, i do not understand why they choose smoking when they can actually obtain the same satisfaction from doing something else. i know some women who tried knitting to occupy their hands and minds. chewing gum might also works. even the idea of chewing grass is far more appealing to me than smoking. behold a revelation, for those who don't already know, smoking is contagius. not only between friends, but it actually can be passed down to future generations. if a father smokes, his sons more often than not will follow in the same footsteps ( i'm making the assumption that men are more likely to smoke than women ). when someone smokes, he should not say that it's his life and he can do anything he wants with it, when he is actually making differences in many other unborn lives ( provided he will have children and so will his children and so on). i am not quite sure about this, but i think through this way, the number of smokers is actually increasing by geometric progression rather than arithmetic, correct me if i'm wrong. so the next time you hold a cigarette in your hand, think of all the lives you will change when you decide whether to put it between your lips or not.
