went out to celebrate amir's birthday today at this new thai restaurant in porter sq called sugar and spice. it's kinda weird actually, because his birthday is not till tuesday. but it was a lot of fun. the restaurant was nice and the food was good, eventhough it's a little bit on the pricey side. went bowling afterwards, which is always fun. i did pretty well, i think. as huma said, i was kicking ass for a few minutes, but then came the downfall. i still like bowling though, it's so much fun. throwing balls and knocking pins down while practicing your bending skills? hell, yeah.
i saw this other malaysian at sugar and spice, but for the life of me, i could not remember her name. i think she's from mira's batch and she graduated from boston u. she's working somewhere in boston, and she lives on holland street in sommerville. she's still friends with mus and aizan and she has a caucasian boyfriend. can somebody please remind me of her name?
dewi and i had a our own little surprise today. turned out we know a mutual... person. it was the last person i would ever thought she could know and was last person i would ever think of, and yet... just thinking about it gives me the chills. dewi told me of a malaysian guy she used to know and asked me to guess who he is. so i did, and got it right. we were both jumping out of our seats and screaming, "oh, my god!" in a freaked kind of way. that was a crazy experience. seriously, i wouldn't mind not having another surprise like that. creepy.
neel and i have been planning to watch kal ho naa ho for a while now. he came into huma's room today, and asked if i wanted to watch it tonight. but of course, we already made plans for amir's birthday. so he said, "that's fine, we'll do it tomorrow, and it'll be a valentine date. you can be my valentine." you know those moments in life sometime when you're not quite sure what's happening that you're at lost of what to say? well, that was one of my that-kind-of-moments. was he for real or was he kidding? don't do that to me again, please. anytime someone pulls anything like that, i tend to put a little distance between us if not totally shut the person out of my life. so please, humour me.
