if there's ever one thing in the world i don't ever want to do, it's teaching. my parents are both teachers, and that is the last thing i ever want to be. for the life of me, i cannot teach. i would make a really bad teacher. i have no patience and when i get frustrated, i become a really mean b*tch. i yell, and i can even hit people. don't EVER let me teach your kids. i have no problem sharing my experieces with people, but when it comes down to explaining things so that people would actually understand it, i have to put my hands up. in high school, i used to be decently good in math. but if some friends came up to me to ask for help, i'd almost instantly redirect them to someone else. not because i was unwilling to help, but because i was afraid i would do more damage than help. last summer, i was home and my mom asked me to teach my youngest sister to read. half-heartedly, i tried. but whenever she made an excuse to not learn, i went along with it. i didn't know how to make learning fun and easy for her. and so, i saw no reason why she should suffer through my poor teaching efforts. i chose to not ruin her learning experiece by making things seem difficult and complicated. i've had some really bad teachers and in all cases, i ended up hating the classes because they made it impossible for me to understand things. i believe that teachers have a really big impact on shaping our personalities and lives, and i am just not willing to take on that responsibility. i don't think i can carry it out well.
